My father was a very interesting man. He only had a high school education but read 4 newspapers every day as a way to always keep learning. He was willing to try almost anything new for the experience and loved to travel. He was very successful in business and one of his clients was a Japanese Restaurant, Ichiban in New Orleans, LA. The owner Tadamici Kamata, invited him to lunch where he developed a love of sushi, sashimi, and all other forms of Japanese cuisine. We’d dine at Ichiban several times a week. He shared this passion with me and though my father died in 2016, anytime I partake in Japanese cuisine, it reminds me of him.
